Long time ago I bought a bottle of Hoppe's Moly-Oil it is a small plastic bottle with a fine needle applicater. I have not been able to find a replacement. Anybody know where it might be available? Thanks dan
I have not done a hard Google on this but currently what I am using, is a product called "Chain oil Lubricant" by Gunk and it contains some Moly. This stuff is very reasonable and will not crawl or run on a metal surface. I also use it to coat firearms that are in long term storage. Another is "Motorcycle Chain Lubricant". You can also buy a tube of Moly grease and mix your own to your requirements.
Hope this helps ...
I use Dri-Slide for my personal firearms. It's a "heavy" Mollybdenum Disulfide lubricant...meaning it has a lot of molly content. It goes on wet but then dries in place after it's seeped into all of the nooks and crannies. It's pretty messy when it's wet but fine when it's dry. https://www.russack.com/
Keep yer powder dry, Mac.
I use Dri-Slide for two reasons:
*It goes on wet and will penetrate into all of the tight areas. Then it dries in place.
*It works for what I need it to do. Mollybdenum Disulfide is the best dry lubricant there is.
The last time I checked, Mobil 1 went on wet and stayed wet! Here in the desert Southwest, wet lubricants are great dust magnets. I prefer a dry lube because of that and also because I hate having oil stains on my "goin' to town" clothes!
