Cool gun! I have one of those and they're good shooters. Pretty snag-less, too, so they're good for the pocket.

About the ammo:
Mag-Tech .32 S&W is about $8-$10 less per box than the other brands. Don't worry about black powder vs. smokeless as newly made .32 ammo is loaded way down from the original specs because they know it's going to be used in ancient guns. I've got a few boxes run through mine and it's fine. Of course, the gun itself needs to be up to spec.

H&A made those .32 revolvers from 1890 to 1907, in both hammer and hammerless (concealed hammer) versions. The folding hammer spur was an option. The cylinder probably was replaced at one time, but if it functions OK, no problem.

Please, just to satisfy my curiousity, what the heck does "5.0 ct 5.86" mean?

Jim

I would honestly like 2 know wat it means 2 i know nothin about this gun other than the ammo around here is about 32 dollars a box i was at a loss for words when i heard that thats outrageous could anyone tell me what this gun is really worth and if i overpaid

I paid around $125.00 for mine on Gunbroker about a year & a half ago... Hopkins & Allen guns were known for inovation ( like the folding hammers, of which I have a couple both top breaks & solid frames ) they were also one of the 1st to offer loading gates on their solid frame guns... most of that era didn't have a gate, just an open port to load through on the solid frames...

BTW... I collect & shoot alot of these guns, & handload 3 levels of ammo in 32 S&W, & have about 1000 cases to reload from... it's one of my wifes favorite cartridges to shoot, as it offers little recoil & low noise...

New problem lol

Ok so I got my ammo and started in with this gun I really like is when it shoots but my firing pin doesnt strik deep enough over 75% of the time does anyone know where I can find a new hammer/firing pin for this old kopkins and allen or anyway to maybe modify it so the firing pin would strike deep enough everytime
