N nimbleVagrant New member Aug 14, 2012 #2 The bayonet pivot screw is staked in place. Is that what you're referencing? As far as I know all M44 bayonets are the cruciform spike design.

T the rifleer New member Aug 14, 2012 #3 The bayonet is shaped like a stake. It does not have an edge like a knife, it is just very pointy. The end looks like a small flat screw driver. Its just for stabbing, not for cutting like most bayonets also do.
