Ok, so something is going on inside your home that creates a need for your firearm.

In that split moment, will you remember extra mags also??

This news story has a woman in a gunfight, that has to go fetch another firearm during a gunfight!!

HOME INVASION SHOOTOUT!! Woman Doubles Downs On Home Defense
The intruder pushed his way in, put a gun to his head and said, “This is a robbery, give it up.”

But I wonder why it took more than 5 shots?
I recon the difference between real life and Hollywood movies? Even training can't make everyone a better shot in real life events! Many Police and others in Law Enforcement have found out the same thing.

@ Dan-O

Nobody proof-reads anymore. I got a Kindle last year, and e-books tend to be riddled with errors; most seem to be due to Auto-correct turning a typo into a wrong word. It's like there's no editing at all anymore. I hate it. News articles on the internet are the same way. They post them fast, and other than their Spell-check and Auto-correct, there's no editing whatsoever.

On a different forum aka board, there was a female there talking about how well the education system was performing; that education was perfectly fine, blah, blah, blah.

The thing about her post was that it was horribly written, with numerous misspellings and instances where the wrong variant of a word was used, aka it sounded similar, but not the right word. So, I quoted her & highlighted it for her, in red. It's one thing to talk about how well educated someone is, but if their writing is so poor that we have to interpret it and attempt to figure out what he/she is saying, well, in my opinion, they are a representation of a classic fail .. The point of my post; they seem to be clueless as to how poorly educated that they truly are, or how it hurts them in real life.. They believe that as long as they get it close, it's good enough.[let's say for sake of argument that you have a good job; your boss asks you to do something, like document it or whatever; so you do, but it's "somewhat close..".. What does your boss think about you hitting the mark of "close enough" ? ] They believe that is the same for money, questions of logic, etc. Most could not figure out their gas mileage if they wanted to; just an example.. Precision is not something that they understand. And, in the end, they know not what they don't know or understand, or where their education is otherwise lacking.

Lunger, the answer is no. A complete sentence need not start with a noun or pronoun in order to be grammatically correct.

As to why it took more than 5 shots? I don't even need to look at the story to answer that. Stress. Risk of life. Adrenalin. Call it what you want, its a well recognized and long known thing that most people, in a gunfight can't shoot well. Even professionals with years of training are subject to this.

One officer I knew, was a winning competitor in state pistol matches, and yet, in a shoot out with a range of a handful of yards, missed 8 times in a row. Fortunately, so did the other fellow, but that's a different matter...

And, while often useful, there are some grammatical/spelling errors that are either not recognized by the "checker" programs, or, in some cases, are actually caused by those programs.

I have to play devil's advocate here. Everyone's asking why it took the victim more than 5 shots, but how about the suspect? The article said "gunfight" insinuating that the suspect was firing also. Just saying. LOL Quality crooks these days.

My comment about the 5 shots, was basically tongue in cheek.

We are constantly told by the J frame/pocket gun crowd, that 5 shots is more than sufficient.

"Lunger, the answer is no. A complete sentence need not start with a noun or pronoun in order to be grammatically correct."

Just my clumsy attempt at humor. No offense intended

I'm very unorganized and have ammunition and magazines spread out throughout my house in drawers and cabinets. I'll run across but never really bother to move them. My HK45CT sits holstered on my waist up until I go to bed and than sits on my nightstand. I've never really thought I'd need more than 10 rounds, I suppose if the paranoia ever gets to me I'll finally but a Glock 17 with a drum mag
