Just a random wish...

We have been having a rash of night time burglaries in one specific area for the past few months. The thing that kinda strikes me is that not one of the several homeowners who has been startled awake by an intruder in the middle of the night has had a weapon of any sort. As I was cruising the area last night in black out mode I found myself wishing that the next homeowner would be a gun owner and would ventilate one these idiots heads for him. I think it would cut down burglaries for a while.

By the way, I am pretty sure that these guys are working in a team of at least two. One in, one out. Probably with a police scanner and handheld radios/cell phones to communicate. They have narrowly escaped every time. They have to know in real time where we are setting up our perimiter etc...very frustrating

It usually doesn't take most burglars very long to do something stupidly self-defeating.

If they were intelligent, effective people, they'd know crime doesn't pay.

I'd guess the odds are higher that they'll encounter an armed home owner than the brave boys and girls in the blue uniforms—but that's only a guess.

Pretty soon, they'll be on probation. That'll show 'em, eh?

...which is exactly why they need to meet an armed home owner. Kinda hard to put a body on probation.
