Last time I bought some .44 or .45 semi wad cutters they were bout $55. per 500. Internet search to Lasercast and leadheads are showing $85.
What happened? Lead mines run out?
Ga arms sells cast for 35-40 per 500. Granted, its been about two years since I went, but they haven't been gouging powder so I assume they are still cheap.
Here's my favorite bullet supplier; Mike's Shootin' Stuff, located in my shop out back. I haven't purchased a factory lead bullet in 5 years (and that was only to see if I liked the bullet so I could buy a mold) and not for mebbe 12 years before that. I got tired of waiting for shipments and paying for shipping (couldn't find good bullet supplies locally) so I bought a Lee mold, and used a ladle and stainless steel pot on my Coleman stove. I now have molds for every bullet I shoot (14) and don't depend on any commercial caster's alloy or lube. Besides, mine are better...
Thanks for all the tips, placed an order with Missouri Bullet company this morning.
500 .44 240gr. SWC's $48.
500 .45 250gr. SWC's $49.
Now that's more like it.
I recently bought 1000 200 gr. swc for $96 shipped. If you want 230 gr. rn, they will run ya $105 shipped. Great bullet. Unfortunately, they don't make them for the .44.
