Holsters for a USP?

I'm looking for a holster for my H&K USP 9mm. I got an Uncle Mike's Sidekick when I got the gun, so I have someplace to stick it when I'm inspecting my targets, but I'm enrolling in a Police Academy, and they demand that I have a "direct-draw" holster. I have no idea what that is. Can anyone give me some suggestions? Brand? Things to look out for? Concealability isn't an issue, because I doubt it's possible to carry this brick of a gun discreetly and comfortably. Any help would be appreciated.

Safariland SLS. Quick, secure, good quality. I like Don Hume leather better for duty, but I've yet to see anything as slick as the SLS hood.

BTW, you can conceal a USPF - try FIST, Graham, Alessi, or any of the name holster makers.

Check out the polymer holsters from FOBUS. They would be just as sturdy as your USP:D . Also less prone to scratching the finish.

Edge Works makes a very nice Kydex one. I have one. They also are one of the few places that makes mag carriers that fit the USP mags.

I have a G-Code kydex paddle from Scott at EdgeWorks that is very nice. I haven't had it long, but it looks like a keeper.

Scott is also a member here and a nice guy to boot.
