holster question S&W

I bought me a 3 inch 29 today and have found out it's sorda hard to find a holster for it. I dont want the 4 inch or an open muzzle holster. but all I've found that is with in budget is a 3 inch for the m24. would this holster work with my gun? I'm pretty sure they are both N-frames right? so it should work shouldn't? or if anyone knows a good link for one that will fit it.

thanks in advance

I highly recommend the guy who made this one for me. It's a paddle holster because I take it off and put it back on often throughout the day, and it's got a loop that goes around the belt. It was hard to find someone to make a good paddle holster. It's all hand made, lined, very light, basketweave and I think I paid around $90.00 to $100.00 for it from haugenhandgunleather.com
The 3" model 29 fits just right...The 4" .45 LC sticks out a little bit but works in a pinch.

The M24 had a tapered barrel and a fluted cylinder. If your M29 has a full lug barrel or an unfluted cylinder, than the M24 holster may not fit.

Frank,
Nice holster and guns.
I've had Haugen Leather make a couple holster and 1911 mag holders for me.
Very nice work at reasonable prices for custom work and also a very nice gentleman.
This is the Big Magnum Carry he made for me.

Sorry it won't let me attach the pic as I've already uploaded it in the snub thread?

Hmm, not sure...I'll check out the other thread....

Saw them, nice...I wish my Haugen holster was just a weeeee bit shorter, but it works out fine, as I can use it for both guns. The barrel of the 3" has about 3/8 of an inch of holster beyond the end of the barrel when it's holstered...I sorta wanted it flush, but I'm still happy with it. I might have him do a Diamondback Rattlesnake holster for my Colt Officer's .45 and my Colt CCO .45.....Not sure if he can do it with a thumb break though in snakeskin.....I'm not much for flashy holsters, but I do love that snakeskin...

The fluted cylinder will not matter on a well made holster. Now, if it were the crappy kydex or a press made cheapy leather oneA(Like Galco), it would.

If the holster you picked doesn't work out for what ever reason or you need another one take a look at Simply Rugged (simplyrugged.com) hand made holsters. Don't know what your tastes or needs are, but I do know the guys who own and make these holsters are very customer friendly and have answered all my dumb questions via e-mail the same day I wrote them.
