Holster help

I finally found a nice used Safariland holster for a premodel 10 S&W however cannot find a user guide anywhere and cannot remove the weapon from the holster effectively. It almost rips the duty belt off trying to remove it. Anyone know how to use these old service holsters?

Is this a service holster? Usually it's requires that you unsnap the restraint, then rock the revolver forward.

Off the top of my head thats about it. A photo would help.
