Holster for S&W 386

Here is the deal, I just bought a new S&W 386. Actually I didn't buy it yet, I can't even start the DROS for about 3 weeks. But I am going to.

This is going to be on my permit and I need a holster for it. I've tried it in a holster for a 2.5 inch M66 but the site snagged on it too much.

My question is; does anyone make a good concealment holster for the 386? A reasonable priced one would be nice.

Thanks for your help.

Good question Geno, I have been looking for the same holster for about 2 years now. I have a 686+ and a 386PD, every holster I have tried is just a tad too small with either gun. I hope someone can answer your question for you, and me.

I ended up buying a Bianchi #5 skeleton scabbard for my 386 SC. Cost $50. Not a perfect fit for a 3 inch L frame, but best fit holster I could find in local market. Maybe as the 386 becomes more popular a holster will be made to match it, but how long are you willing to wait? I could only hold out a couple of weeks.

Geno! Try FIST!

I too have a 386 and called the folks at FIST. Try to talk with Mr. Murnak who is the owner and main holster maker. He does great work and will listen to just what you want. Be sure to tell him the 386 has a 3" barrel. I ordered a #1A clip holster and it has been great. Took about four weeks and cost $34.95 plus postage. I wear it and the 386 all the time. FYI the url is http://www.fist-inc.com/. Good shooting:)

Greeting's All,

Go to GALCO International's website, click on Smith & Wesson
model 386. Seems like I remember seeing some sort'a high
ride, speed holster for this firearm; for about $64.50 +S/H.

Just got a Smartcarry for my 3" ruger sp101 .357 conceals really well, Easy to draw the firearm, and is very comfortable to wear.

Good luck on your search!

Wow! One day and look at all of the responses...I'm impressed. Guess I knew you all would help me out.

Checked the Galco site and they show one for the 386pd (2.5 inch bbl) and I've tried that one and it doesn't work too great with the hi viz sights.

I've got a couple of FIST holsters now. On his site there is no mention of the 386 but I figure he would make one if I asked, I do like his customer service.

Again, thanks for all of the responses so far...I'll let you know what I find out.
