What do you use and what won't you use and why? I'm going to be getting an IWB and a pancake. No paddles for now anyway. I'm thinking about trying a Sidearmor, but I thought it would be better to see what has worked for others first.

By the way, in case it effects your decision. I'm 6'3", alilbit over 200 lbs and athletically built.

Thanks,
Kel

Now, don't laugh ... the best holster I ever had for a G19 was a Desantis Style 19 Mini Scabbard in black Millenium fabric. It is a molded, open-top speed scabbard with a fairly neutral rake that has a tension screw and a minimum of anything else. It was absolutely silent on the belt and exceedingly fast on the draw. It's not one of those fancy designer holsters, but it worked beautifully for me for two or three years. Desantis is at www.desantisholster.com.

over at http://www.glocktalk.com

they speak praises of sidearmor and blade-tech. You may also want to give comp-tac a try, they're based in Houston. I've seen some of their products and it looks as nice as the blade-tech IWB I've got.

I haven't tried Blade-Tech yet but I did pick up a used IWB Sidearmor for my Glock 30. The quality is top notch. I would feel comfortable recommending Sidearmor based on the quailty and fit of the sample I own.

I have carried my Glocks in a Sidearmor IWB and a Galco pancake style holster. Both are pretty good although I prefer the Sidearmor. The Galco was actually somewhat more comfortable but the Sidearmor covered the trigger/guard better and held the gun in place more to my liking. I like my metal 1911's in leather and my tupperware in plastic, what can I say? I don't think build is as important a factor as style of dress. The Sidearmor IWB are excellent concealment holsters, but then again so is the Galco pancake and SOB. It's a matter of personal preference, as most things are...

Hmm, for IWB I use the cheap old Nylon holsters minus the velcro retention strap, cheap reliable and comfortable. I also have a Galco Royal Gaurd that fits both my G30 and G23, its not as comfortable as my Nylon holsters but it holds it more securely.

Normal outside the waistband carry I have a Fobus paddle for both my G30 and G23, and a Galco Fletch for my G30. The fobus holsters are absolutely wonderful; comfortable, easy to draw and hold the weapon close to the body.

I dont have much experience with the other holsters mentioned so I couldn't begin to recommend any to you. But for regular carry when weather and clothing permits, I will always carry my pistols in a Fobus.

I have a bunch of holsters. The kydex don't work for me, I just don't like the feel and I can't seem to get it to ride right.
I have a nylon Bianchi beltslide holster that I like very much, it's a CCW holster.
The ones that I love the most are the leather pancake holsters, I have two that are 3 slot holster so you can wear it several ways. I prefer strongside carry for everyday and cross draw for car trips.

I have never tried IWB carry yet, as I will have to buy yet another holster.
I also don't care for a paddle holster. You will just have to find the mode of carry that is best for you.

I am using a Don Hume IWB holster for now but am interested in some of those Desantis holsters as mentioned above.

Blade-Tech IWB w/pull dot straps werks fer me.. Fit's my 19, 23 and will fit the 32 I plan to get soon..

In 1992 I purchased a Glock 19. Since then I have accumulated a formidable holster collection. Recommendations for the belt are: Kraemer (either belt slide or scabbard); Blade-Tech and the basic Glock plastic $15 dollar holster. For inside the belt; Blade-Tech and the Kramer IWB #3 ( I think. The one designed specifically for the G19). There are many satisfactory holsters and probably quite a few excellent ones I haven't gotten around to yet. Also check Milt Sparks and Alessi. My experience with J-hooks is that they are less desireable than snaps.

I have an older Sparks Executive Companion for a Glock 19/23 that I am willing to sell. Unlike the newer ones it does not have the index tab on the back side. It is the smooth side out in tan color.

The holster is like new as I could not get used to the IWB carry mode. The price is $55.00.

E-mail me if interested!

kelbench: yet another commercial! if you haven't settled on a holster yet, I've got sidearmors for the 19 and 26 glocks - sold the glocks, still have the holsters! e-mail if you're interested ... they'll be cheap, as i'm beginning to feed a returned-with-a-vengeance 1911 habit!

mon1911, for some reason I couldn't send you e-mail. Please contact me about the sidearmor holster for the 19..I'm interested, thanks.

Every serious handgunner has a "Box o' Leather", filled with all the holsters accumulated over the years. Some work out, some don't...but you don't know unless you've tried them for a while.

The Box o' Leather in my place contains a few good leather rigs for the G19. Among the coolest is my roomie's Bianchi PDQ, but we also have a very nice lined Safari paddle holster. I've recently started using three-slot pancake holsters, finding them even better for concealment than IWB personally, but I also have my favorite IWB for all my carry guns, the Bianchi #3S Pistol Pocket.

Well I been using Sidearmor IWB holster for the past couple of years now for my G19 at 3 o'clock.

For the past three month now I change it to SOB IWB (same holster but just different position) using a 20-degree cant belt loop that I find it much more comfortable then the 3 o'clock position.

IMO, I think that Sidearmor has one of the best if not the best holster for Glocks. Personally I don’t like their J hook, I prefer the belt loops. I have the hardest time getting the J hook into place. If you decide to buy a Sidearmor make sure you get the different degree cant add on.

I've been using a Predator holster for my 19 since 1998. It has about seven degrees of forward rake and carries very well.

Leather or Kydex?

If you're looking for a leather IWB you can't do better than an Alessi Talon Plus. It's thin, molded like a glove, contoured to the body, rides low and has a clip that really works.

I haven't found a better all around holster for a Glock than a SideArmor. Their design allows to change from clip to loops, the size of the clips and loops and the angle in minutes. Check them out www.sidearmor.net You can also read some great reviews here www.sportshooter.com/gear/holsters.htm
