Holster fit between the Sig 226 and 228?

I've got a Safariland sure-fit model 560 for my 220 and 226. I'm wondering if I trade my 226 for a 228, if it will fit in the same holster?

What is strange is that Safariland says that my holster will fit the 220, 245, 226, and 229. While another holster will fit 228, 225, and 239. Isn't the 228 closer in size to the 229 than the single stack 225 or 239?

Over all they should swap. the only real difference is the shape of the trigger guard, which may be problematic with a molded or kydex holster. I'm using a P226 pancake holster for my P228, no problems. :cool:

the leather holsters I have fit both my 228 and 229, although the 229 is just a tad tighter.
 
I have used a 228 in the same holsters as the 226 without any problems. The holster length is a little more than you need for the 228, but it has worked for me. Watch-Six
