Holster choice?

I am looking to get a new IWB holster for my M&P 9c. I am looking at the Galco summer comfort (leather) and the Comp-tac CTAC (kydex) holsters. Has anyone had experience with both and able to recommend one over the other. It seems that a lot of people got through much trial and error when buying a holster and I would like to eliminate as much of that as possible with current money conditions these days. There are no dealers around to try both, so I will have to use advise. Yes, I am one of those guys who like to keep my gun looking "new". Will the kydex give much harm to the tuff melonite finish on my M&P? I like to clean my guns often, so I don't "think" that leather will cause a rusting problem? Any advise or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

i have a very similar holster to the summer comfort and i have a comptac mtac. i really really like the mtac. the one thing i don't like about the summer comfort style is they don't have a rear stabilizer. the mtac does so it keeps the gun butt in towards the body better. the gun i've used with them is a cz75 compact. under a tshirt the mtac conceals well, the summer comfort doesn't conceal as well on me (6'3" 250, at 4:30-5:00 ish). although both are very comfortable. if you want to only buy one i'd highly recommend an mtac the leather back is comfy and the adjustablity is awesome

Not those, but I have with similar products. I have some fine leather holsters including Milt Sparks for a couple of pistols. I also have several M&Ps. I like the Comp-Tac MTAC and the Custom Carry Concepts Adjustable Cant the best with an M&P, with the CCC Quick Cover a close runner up. Concealment, speed and comfort are exceptional. Of course what works for me may not work for you.

A lot of people recommended the Milt Sparks Versamax 2,and I found one one Ebay for $45,and I got it.That was absolutely the nicest holster I've ever worn. The only problem is it was a pain to take off and put on.Then I tried an Alessi Talon. The VM2 has sat in a drawer ever since...

No,I will not sell the VM2...

just got done wearing my mtac around for a night and remember another feature i like about it. The ride height is extremely adjustable. and with about 3 inch of movement up and down. i've set mine up as a low ride holster which work perfect for me.

I recently bought a Summer Comfort for my Sig 239. I wear it right behind the hip at about 4 o'clock. IMO it's a great holster! Good quality, solid retention, sturdy, and most of all... COMFORTABLE :) I often forget that I'm wearing it. I would highly recommend it. Great holster for a good price.

I can only recommend the MS VM II; I have one for each of my 1911 pistols and just ordered another for SW 610. I am certain that other brands are of high quality and fit but the VM II has always provided all day comfort and security.
