Hogue stock

I bought a youth stock for a Mossy 500. Took the old one off, went to remove the recoil pad from the Hogue and there are no screws to do so. Went to plan B and read the directions, they say there should be two screws with small holes on the back of the stock. No holes. What am I missing? The recoil pad seems to have two sections, but it does not seem to come apart any way I push it. I absolutely know how this normally works, but this stock does not have the two screws.

Ok, butt stock went on fine, but now the fore grip won't come off. I have it totally separate from the gun, but even after removing the bolt at the front end of the grip I can not get it to come off. Is this something where I just need to pull really hard? I would prefer not to break it.

3 hours ago a cute girl called me and asked me over for a drink(I have been doing laundry and cleaning other firearms when I got stuck). I told her I was in the middle of a project and would call her when I got done. I just called her and she didn't pick up. Offering to convert this firearm to a youth stock was foolish.

You will make one happy youth hunter for life! I used the craftsman (flat)screw driver shaft to remove the nut on the forend.

I removed the nut at the front using a piece from inside the gun. Seemed like a bad idea, but it fit perfectly so I did it. That is where I am stuck. Now that the nut is off I expected the grip to slide off with minimum force. No such luck. I haven't pulled super hard, but I gave it a solid tug. This is one of the persuader models. HD gun for a woman, not a hunting for youth:) I may take it to my local gun shop, although I had her purchas at Dick's. They could not get it in stock so I don't feel bad about taking it to them even though they did not make the sale.

The wood stuck to the forend pretty good. Try knocking it with rubber mallet. I had mine done a while back and it is pretty tight.
