Hogue & Ruger KGP-141

I really like the utility of the Ruger Grips with the one screw take down. I have been lusting over the Houge Lamo Camo with checkering. Money is tight, and the grip from Hogue is $95. Is it worth it?

Should I spend the money on a Jennings 25?;)

Strictly personal opinion: I like Ruger's GP-100 factory grips just fine (I have two KGP-141s) and wouldn't spend a dime to alter them.
 
What caliber? I agree with CZ & RWK on this subject(as a general rule, there are a few exceptions). If it's a heavy bucking magnum, you'll most likely find the checkering tries to remove hide.
