I have a question, I want to put hogue grips on my 15-2 Dan wesson .357 mag, I like the monogrip by hogue, the nylon grips are said to be able to be worked to fit a person's hand better, does anyone know if these type of grips still absorb the recoil like the rubber grips.

Have you ever looked at Hogue Auction? You can pick up beautiful fancy wood grips which Hogue lists as blems. For the life of me, I can't see the problem with 'em- even Hogue's seconds are nicer than others, such as Ahrends- firsts. And their prices run about 70% of retail...its making nice grips affordable.

thanks for the feedback only currently offering larger size grips for dan wesson's on that auction website. I bookmarked it for later use.

The nylon ones are said to be easier to shape I think because they are nylon throughout and the end result will look uniform. The rubber ones are a nylon core with an out skin of rubber. You can shape the rubber ones, but if you file/sand too deep you will go through the rubber completely and get to the nylon core. The thinned sections of rubber may peel away from the nylon I suppose. I sanded most of the finger grooves off mine because they don't match my hands and went into the nylon.....it was no big deal to me as I am more interested in comfort, but they do look funky now. I will try to post a pic so you can see what it will/may look like.
