Hey Guys/Gals- trying to plan a hog hunt in Florida- looking for recommendations for an outfitter..
seems like a lot of the places trap hogs then release them into a preserve for hunting---
we are interested in a buggy hunt but prefer guns to knives.

also If anybody has info on Triple M outfitters in central florida--- that would be great- He doesn't have many reviews-- Thanks in Advance-Fred

Yeah I've searched that on google..
Was looking for some personal references...don't want to end up hunting in someone's backyard for thier pet pig

Space Coast... But don't mind a drive

Jersey, Central Fl Trophy Hunts is open. No fences. Not that any fence would hold wild pigs. They use feeders for stand hunting.
Last time out, I scattered a bunch of unshelled peanuts around the feeder and sprayed a couple of unfrozen freezer-pops for scent. Between passing rain squalls, a bunch of hogs came running in to the feeder and were gobbling up my peanuts when I fired a 350 gr flat-point out of my .450 Marlin bolt-action through the biggest hog's spine, right behind the ear. Instant dead hog.
Undresed weight was 252 lbs.
I'm planning on a hunt next month. Do you or your son - or both - want to go?

Burbank,
Running through the Florida thickets listening to the dogs barking and the hog crashing, frantically trying to get away and guessing which way to go to get ahead of them is amazing fun.
Two years ago, a 180 lb hog came out of the palms, going full speed across the small clearing in front of me and I whacked it right behind the ear at 30 yds with a DE .44 Mag.
Someone asked me how much I was leading the hog when I fired. I said, not at all. When I sat down and figured out how much lead was needed at that range with a 180 gr bullet at that velocity on a 30 mph hog, it turned out to be 0.6".
Maybe you can shoot well enough to appreciate half an inch under those circumstances, but I can't.

@Jerseyslayer I was born/raised in central FL. After graduation from UCF and ROTC, I took my oath at Patrick. Spent lots of time fishing that area and hunting all over central Florida for deer, hogs, and ducks. As an active duty member, he also has some unique opportunities at the Avon Park bomb range west of Patrick.

I was also stationed at McGuire on C-141s. Took a lot of deer up there!

DM me if your son wants more info on things he should do while at Patrick.
