Hog Hunt

Well I went down to South Texas a couple weekends ago to hunt hogs. I decided I had rather get an axis deer after tasting one at the camp. The .35 busted right through the 4-point and he dropped, shook and was dead before I got to him.

A budy of mine, after moving back to the Hill Country near Leakey, exulted over being able to shoot an Axis from his kitchen window--and time of day, and day of the year.

He shook his head and commented, "Ya know, it just wouldn't seem right, not lying down alongside to gut him out."
