HKS speed loader for S&W 642

Which model HKS speed loader fits a S&W 642/442 J frame line. There isn't one for this number.

10-A
36-A

are the models that would fit a 38/357 caliber but are not listed for this revolver.

Thanks

Use the 36A. That fits my SW 638 J frame. I believe on the package it said it fits all smith and wesson J frame 5 shot revolvers.

36A is the proper speedloader for S&W J-Frames in .38 Special and .357 Magnum. The 10A fits K-Frames in .38 Spl and .357 Mag.

Speedloader for 642

9mm - Did you pickup the 36-A speed-loader for your S&W 642? I just got one today for the wife's 642 and found that it is easier to load rounds by hand.

It appears to me that the speed-loader does not line up correctly with the cylinder.

Just curious what you found when you tried.

Thanks!

What type of grips does your wife's gun have? Sometimes larger grips will not allow enough clearance for the use of speed loaders.

I use both the 36A's and speed strips for my 642. The 36A's are awesome, but bulky when I carry, especially in the warmer weather.

I use speed strips in my 642.

My primary reason for this wasn't due to not finding speed loaders that fit, all of my 5 shot speed loaders are loaded with .357 for my SP101, I keep nothing but .38 in the strips. I stick to that system so I never have to worry about grabbing the wrong ones.

Webleymkv - the grips are the factory standard grips that came with the gun, but that is where the HKS Speedloader hands up.

I may pickup speedstrips for her to try, and that might be easier for her to carry anyway.

Thanks!
