does anyone know if 400 is a reasonable price for a hk vp70z? it is 100% nib, includes all papers and everything. thanks in advance

moderators please delete the first version of this post, i was trying to add the e-mail notification and accidently posted twice. thanks

Price is pretty good for this neck of the woods. Not a lot of collector's interest in HK's "Phaser pistol" yet.

Really lousy trigger pull turned a lot of people off on them. Of course, when compared to the new Taurus Millenium series, it doesn't seem as bad any more...

if anyone is interested he has more than one that he is trying to sell. this fellow has lots of h&k toys.

blooch,
$400 is a good price for a nib VP70Z in my neck of the woods, too. What other "HK toys" does he have that he wants to sell?

blooch, that is a good price for the VP in the condition which you described. Would be a nice collectable to have and not shoot, but if you want a shooter see if the guy has a P9S especially if it is the Target or Competition version. They were made in both 9mm and .45. IMHO the best pistol H&K has ever made.

A few years back, I spotted one for sale at the Kittery Trading Post in Maine. "Well used", as they say. I checked it out but passed on it.

Six months later, they had another one for sale. I said to the guy behind the counter "Gee, I saw another one here six months ago."

He said "Naw, this is the same one. We sell it and six months later, take it back in trade. We've been doing this for years - same gun. Why don't you buy it and in six months we'll give you a really good trade-in on it."

We were both laughing by then - I still passed on it although... would have been neat to own it for a while. Like, maybe, six months?

oweno,
Funny story. We should have an official TFL gun that we all pass on to each other. A little POS Jennings or something. We each have to keep it for a week and try to get it to fire, then pass it on to the next person.

Exactly what I was getting at.

My wife's family had this one fruitcake they passed on to eachother for about 15 years before it finally got tossed. The people who got it would just immediatley shove it into the freezer and wait patiently for the next X-Mas.

I think the gun idea would be great. If only the laws would be easier to get around....

I inherited a Raven 25 automatic that I don't even have the nerve to try and trade on bullets or nite sites or something because the guys at "the shop" will make fun of me for YEARS!!! We could use that! ;)

Seriously though... what's a VP70Z? I've never heard of one... anyone got a pic?
