I would like to buy one. I am in SO CAL. And was wondering what a good price was. My local gun store has it for about 700.00? i think that is high? what is a good price for this gun? please post thanks.

After I get my beretta the HK .45USP is my next project. From what I have seen thats not a bad price but then again I think the prices for these guns are unusually high in southern CA. At my local store their is an HK .45 USP inox for about 760. I have seen it cheaper but not buy much. I think I saw one for 715. If you find a better price post it. I want to know where to go when it is time for me to purchase one.

I live in So CA as well and bought my HK .45 for $640 about 3 months ago. My buddy got one for $540, but that was unusual and I believe the store he bought it from messed up on the price, as I think that is higher than cost price. I haven't seen them much cheeper than $640. I bought night sights with it for another $69. $700 sounds high to me and I would shop around little more. But it is an excellent gun and I have not had any malfunctions or problems so far. You will love it when you get it!

I got mine used up here in NorCal for 500 but it was used , barely but still used.

also if you're getting it from out of state, don't forget the ffl fee usually in CA, its $50+

I presume you are thinking the full size version, not the compact. H&K makes superb weapons, but a few thoughts based on my experience with them. H&Ks are ultra reliable, accurate and can replicate the 1911 cocked and locked mode. They can also be carried in the DA/SA mode, the decocker can be used to "de-fang the snake" during weapon retention. They are not small guns however, and the compact verison is a mite chubby, and recoil control for fast shooting takes practice. The bore to grip axis is a bit high compared to a 1911, but it is a fine weapon. The ability to mount H&K's weapon light is a huge plus. I fired hundreds of rounds through USPs during classes at H&K training, (as did many other folks) and I never saw one them burp. Where .45s are concerned, 1911s will always be my favorites, but one cannot go wrong with an H&K.

I bought my HK's (have .45's in large and compact form) from my favorite gun shop in Valdosta GA. They cost me 600.00 (large) and 610.00 (compact), both NIB. I got them off the "price shown" but then again, that was my favorite hangout and I knew the owners by first names. I would go in and "drool" for hours, watch other people and use the bathroom. If you have a fav. gun shop, make friends with all involved... sometimes you can get things at cost or little over cost (but don't make that your prime directive). G-d, I miss that place.. the only thing that could have made it better is if they had a pot-bellied shove and a pickle barrel.

I have three HK USP .45's. Two tacticals and one full size HK USP (my second one). I have NEVER had any problems with my HK. I have ran 1000's of reloads (lead RN mainly) and never had a problem. Some of those reloads would not fit in my (now sold) S&W 625. Some of those reloads wouldn't even function through a Thompson sub machine gun. I picked them up off the ground, wiped them off and they fed through the HK USP with no problems. You can't go wrong with a HK USP, as long as you are comfortable with the fit of the pistol in your hand.

ArmUSA in Anaheim, California has them for low to mid $600's ($620-650) usually. Also, Evan's Gunsmithing Shooter's World is a range in Orange that is also an H&K dealer. They had the USP45 fullsized for $638 to civilians last I saw, and they also give you a range card worth a month's free range time or 10 visits ($70 to buy it) anytime you purchase a gun from them.

If you are going to go to an indoor range 10 times in a year, then this effectively makes the gun $568, which is a FAR cry better than your $700 that you quoted.

Both of these places are in central Orange County.
