Hk Usp 45

I kind of like the HK USP .45. I mean, the standard one is a bit ugly (IMHO), but the Tactical, Expert, and SOCOM look pretty cool to me (The USP 45 grip fits my hand, and I *like* big handguns).

I have a few questions about it, though.

-What's a good price?
-Is it true that a USP 45 can fire .45 Super without modification? I've heard so many conflicting reports.
-How do you like yours, if you have one?

Thanks in advance.

Form follows function

Look more closely - you will see that the tac "looks" the same except for the threaded barrel.

If we are talking about the full size - all day long. Basically, if you can wedge it into the chamber - let'er buck.

How do you like yours, if you have one?

I have two .45 F and C. Love them both. Carry and compete with them. Nearly 20k rounds through the two - no malfunctions, no breakages, no rust, no problems.

Price?

I have seen the new USP .45F going for like $725.00 in HE (they don't make SS full size any more)

Good luck

Nightcrawler,

Mo-Zam-Beek has pretty much said it all. I have a USP.45F and love it. It's extremely accurate and reliable, I have 5200+ rounds fired and it's been flawless. I picked up my USP new, date code AA, for $690.00 in NJ. It's laying on the computer table right now as I type this. Kids are in bed and its time for some dry fire practice. Oh, I like to think of my USP.45F as "ruggedly handsome" hell, it a combat handgun. It aint designed to win the beauty shows, it's designed to survive war. Search around and get the best deal you can. If you do choose the USP.45F I don't think you'll be disapointed.

The HK USP45 full size will fire .45 Super reliably. If you don't want to believe internet talk, go ahead and give HK-USA a call. They will tell you the same.

Aside from the threaded barrel, the Tac looks the same. I think the USP45f is my favorite .45, the trigger has improved in all '01 models (date code AB) in both DA and SA modes. I plan on getting one for myself as a Christmas present, to keep my USP9 company.

I love ALL the USP's. I have a guy who will sell me a NIB .357 Compact, which is a rare find these days (and for 500 bucks!). If all goes well, I will have three USP's soon.

I paid 650 for my USP9, and I am pretty sure I will pay between 670 and 700 for the USP45. 730 is a pretty standard price, but you can save 30-50 bucks if you shop around.

I have 3 USP 45F in the SS version. I love them. One is a NIB Var2, and the others are Var1 with Night sights. Fun gun, not much recoil and I use it as my carry gun. It may not be pretty, but I love mine.

Anybody have the USP Expert? I like the longer barrel. How much more does it cost? Does it get the same options for safties? I'd like the decocker/manual safety on the right side of the frame, myself.

i've got a USP.45f and i love it. i'm thinking about a compact .45 or one of the 9mm's every other day now, since i haven't the resources to buy my way into reloading yet. but that also means i haven't the resources for another pistol at this point either :( but it's gonna be an HK or a 1911 of some variety.

I have USP 45 & an Expert 45. They are my favorites PERIOD. ;) The Expert has the longer o-ring barrel & slide, hand fitted barrel, adjustable sights, match trigger and cordura carrying case over the standard USP 45. Definite keepers! :D :D

It was a private party transfer, never been fired. $1200 out the door :) Retail is $1499 + taxes & fees. By the way, it is an AA date code ('00) and I bought it early '01 :D

My first USP45f was purchased, private sale, $450. It had maybe 300 rounds fired through it by a friend who wanted a (hee-hee) BUL polymer 45 instead. I've owned it now since early 1999. My code is "KI", and don't know where that dates the pistol. I've put at least 7,500~8,000 rounds through it with the only hiccups on factory American brand ammo. Mostly shoot rounds I roll myself. This is still my favoite pistol. I too find it quite attractive.

I loved it so much I purchased a Tactical this year....looks about the same, in fact not quite so handsome as the original due to the ultra-high sights. The trigger is a bit better than the original, but they both shoot equally well...can't tell the groups apart. Paid 800 smackers in a private sale. Cool cordura range case, threaded bbl, etc.

At first I felt that the BIG grip would be a hinderance, as my hands aren't that large. But now all other guns feel too small.

I picked up a Tactical and I love it. It is more accurate than my Kimber Pro CDP. I have $920 in mine. Someday I will add the suppressor!!!:cool:

KI date code is 1998...mine's KK=99...it'll be a long time til we see that first K again...

A=0
B=1
C=2
D=3
E=4
F=5
G=6
H=7
I=8
K=9

got that from www.hkpro.com everything you wanted to know about HK's and more.

HK USP .45 Compact

I have the compact version and swear by it. It is easily the most butt-kicking firearm I have ever owned. I am considering purchase of an Expert, Tactical or a MK23, but I haven't decided on which just yet. I want to get into some IDPA style competition and haven't had the time to fully evaluate the weapons yet.

Any opinions out there?
