:confused:I bought a HK about a year and a half ago. The dealer I purchased it from assured me that it would be in but that was more than a year ago. I talked to other gun dealers and they all said HK is a real pain in the but to deal with. Is that true? Should I just give up and get my money back or stick with it? The reason he gave me was that since Hk stopped making that model they have been really hard to get. Does anyone know where else I can get this gun from for about $800. Any and all help will be greatly apperciated. Thanks in advance!!!

If you live near eastern Pa or are a Pa resident you may want to check out Target master, he always seems to have them in stock, and he usually has afew usded HKs as well. The prices are good based upon what Ive seen on the internet.

I don't know how their sales or distributors are to deal with, but Their customer service has always been great for me.

I think you may have a hard time finding the full size stainless .45 (if indeed they have discontinued them). This link will take you to Impact Arms H&K section. They have a good selection and deal over the internet. I live about 5 minutes from this shop and if I needed to I would order from them over the internet without any worries.

You my find better prices at other web sites, so shop around. I'd definately get my money back or have them do an online transaction for you for free since they've had your money for so long. They should have given it back long ago if they figured it would take that long to get you your H&K.

Full size stainless USPs have been discontinued. If you want one, snag it fast.

The best customer service is the kind you never need. HK has a high probability of providing just that.

But I did have to send my USP compact in. HK repair said it would take about two weeks. It took less. I paid shipping to send it (not cheap), they paid to send it back to me. Several hundred glitch-free rounds have passed since then, so I'll give them credit for fixing it right the first time.

I was reading some accounts of people's experiences with HK Repair and noticed a few things:

1. They seem to be better now than they used to be.
2. Dealers seem to dread them -- you may want to just call them up directly.
3. If you include a detailed written description of the problem, things seem to go more smoothly. I listed the approximate round count and ammo I was using when I had a few failures to feed. I also gave them a pretty thorough description of the malfunction.

From my experience, I would give them a "good" rating for fixing the pistol right the first time and getting it back relatively quickly. The fact that I had to pay shipping for them to fix a malfunctioning gun under warranty keeps them from getting an "excellent".

jadams951,

I was kind of shocked at those prices too. I don't get it because I've had great luck with prices there. I've bought most of my handguns there at prices that have been the lowest I've seen anywhere internet included. In fact I bought my own H&K USP .40 full sized (HE finish) there for $529 about a year ago.

I know H&K prices have been going up lately, but I didn't think they had gone up that much. I don't know what the deal is???

There's still quite a few NIB HK USP Stainless .45f in the Dallas area. Got mine from Doc Walther for $649 and have seen more. My HK catalog price list does indicate the full size stainless are discontinued but they seem to be a slow seller around here. That's good for me because I've purchased five of them (all stainless, some compact some fullsize) this year, and all NIB at great prices.

Good luck in finding one.

I believe among dealers, HK's service has to rank as the worst service of any gun manufacturer. I have a friend who is a dealer and every time I see him, I believe he has a new story on how HK has screwed him over again. He would of given up selling them a long time ago, but they sell well for him since most all the other dealers in this area don't have the patience to deal with HK.

One example was where he ordered a few guns and at the time were told they were in stock. Well come to find out, they were out, but he had already sent in his money order. So he calls up HK and they tell him they will refund him his cash. Well, long story short, it took over a year, after mutiple calls, getting transfered to different people on the phone, and just generally getting jerked around before he finally got his refund. In fact he was finally forced to having to yell at their secretary over the phone reducing her to tears, before they finally took him seriously and sent him back his cash. Almost revoked his account over the whole deal. He felt pretty bad over causing their secretary to cry but he had just had too much and sort of went crazy there for a little bit.
