Earliest release to dealers scheduled for November, retail $1495.

The USC (civilian UMP .45ACP) is scheduled for release next year. Pending legislation in California may cause '99 production run to be delivered to that state before any others.
 
I have read that the SL8's suggested retail in Germany is around $ 1500. They are already available here in Finland also and the cheapest price I have seen advertised here is about $ 1400. I have not seen the SL8 yet since the local gun stores do not have it in stock.

You might get SL8's cheaper in the USA since the European prices include Value Added Taxes (sales taxes). Currently that tax is 16 % in Germany and 22 % in Finland. I have noticed that at least some states of the USA also have sales taxes but they seemed to be lower than they generally are in European countries.

I have heard of a still unpublished test on SL8. They say it is one of the most accurate semiautos today. It's quite heavy for the caliber, and the barrel is free floated (does not touch the handguard).
