HK P9S Safety Operation Question

Nedd some help about how operates slide safety lever on a H&K P9S 45 ACP. Also I've experienced troubles when tried to unload unfired ammo, pushing the slide to its rearmost position by hand(bullet does not eject because it touches ejection port) Is this normal?? (My P9S is almost brand new)

The ejection port is small. To unload, drop the mag, grip pistol by the grip with one hand and cocking serrations on the slide with the other, quickly retract slide. My guess is that you are pulling the slide back slowly and the cartridge is hanging up. The pistol was not made to cycle slowly. At least this way it can drop out through the mag well if necessary. As for the slide mounted safety lever, if the red dot is showing the gun is ready to fire. No matter which position the safety is in the striker will drop if the trigger is pulled.
 
USE DUMMY ROUNDS!!! DO NOT CYCLE LIVE AMMO THROUGH YOUR GUN AT HOME. I would hate to see you have a repeat performance of the Tulsa gun show incident.
