HK P9: decocking lever in the way of a lefty's trigger finger?

Although I've never handled one--and the nice guns are pricey, being rare--all photos suggest that the decocking lever would be a bit of an obstacle for a left-handed shooter.

Nobody on the same 'thread' over at 'THR' has clarified this.
Obstacle-or not?

The cocker/decocker/slide release is low form, and not a real obstacle. You do notice it, about like the fourth screw on the 1860 Colt Army. It's not a show stopper. These guns aren't really expensive, even though they are somewhat rare.

I am left handed and have several pistols with a decocker and they have never gotten in the way.....really never know that they are there.

On my Sauer 38H the lever seems to be set higher in the frame.

Your info will allow a much quicker evaluation should I 'bump into' one at a small local show, or elsewhere.

Once you make the purchase, you will have the extreme "JOY" of trying to find lefthanded holsters.

dontcatchmany: Well, whenever the .380 Russian Makarov is carried (not very often-except jogging-for the practice), it stays really well in the iwb Remora. This iwb Remora uses friction to stay in place.

Any future HK P9 or possibly Walther P5 would stay in the car.

Need to order some Alien Gear for comparison (using the Makarov), as it connects to the belt.
