For anyone who has been waiting to pick up a H&K P30L, i thought i'd share my resources. they were on sale on various gun websites using gundeals.com as a guiding reference. I picked up the v3 no safety with decocker on manventureoutpost.com for $540 shipped.

Glad you got one as it is a terrific pistol but HK lowered prices on the P30 series, HK45, and HK45C at the end of 2017, so what you paid and are seeing is the new pricing. Reports are the HK45 and HK45C are being made at the new HK Georgia manufacturing facility and have no serial number on the slide. HK has confirmed that the P30 series is still being made in Germany.

i did not realize that H&K lowered their prices on their polymer pistols. I was confused seeing prices for the same gun at around $800 at one time. What would make them do this, are they trying to compete with Glock and Springfield? I know springfield just came out with a hammer version polymer gun for their xd models which will be a direct competition to the p30 series.

HKs response was due to manufacturing efficiencies at their new plant in USA and in Germany.

My guess is they also found out how well the VP9 and P30SK sold at a lower price point showing more total net profit can be made at a lower price by selling more units. HK military/LEO contacts are a big part of their business and speculation is that has decreased and they want to take advantage of the lucrative US end consumer firearm market which meant they had to be more price competitive. HK has been in fairly poor financial condition for a while now so I hope it all works out for them.

Whatever the reasons the new pricing makes for a great deal on HKs high quality pistol line other than the USP series.

Well HK did just get a contract for 416s for France, IIRC, and I think another country too. Still, they’ve been in bad financial shape for years. Really right about when the VP9 came out they made a lot of changes. Redid the website, started pushing the civilian side a lot more, was a big change. I hope it all works for them. The new prices are great, though if you bought at the old prices your motivation to sell will be even lower than it was before.

You did well!

The new price adjustments are nice and you still paid MUCH less than retail here in BTR proper.

I hope and pray they right their ship. I find the VP9 a better pistol than my Glocks but Glock beats them with factory support, parts supply chain, GSSF, etc., etc.

I LOVE both and would like to see BOTH do extremely well. Same with the M&P2.0

As happy I am to hear that one of my favorite pistols will now be more affordable, I do worry a little about what the above really means. Part of me is concerned that it's a euphemism for "we cut a few corners".

Whether or not that actually translates into lesser quality is arguable...but the fact of the matter is most gun owners don't run their guns all that hard and are more concerned with a price point versus quality.
