HK P2000SK Summer Carry?

Tried one on for size in my LGS, felt great in the hand...better than the P30SK. How does it carry, would I have any problem carrying with cargo shorts or similar summer wear? Anyone who has/had one, you're opinion is valued.

Thanks!

PS - I have the full size VP9 and love it, but I'm in MA so the VP9SK is not state compliant yet.

I have a P30SK and CCW it on occasion.

With a good holster and good gun belt you should be able to CCW it. But no one but you will know how comfortable that would be for you.

That said I have found that single stack poly frame pistols like my Walther PPS offer easier and more comfortable concealment, especially for longer periods of time, because of how thin they are. I find myself carrying my PPS more and more. Only downside is ammo capacity but I feel very comfortable with 7+1 and can easily carry a spare loaded magazine if I feel the need.

I can attest to what sigarms228 says, I have a P30 9mm and a P2000 .40S&W, but neither are the "SK" and these are 2 of the best "shooters" I own, and I can carry either. But my Walther PPS-M2 conceal carries beautifully, and I have 2 8rd accessory mags for it, so I carry it with the flush-fit 6 round mag, and I'll typically carry at least 1 of the 8rd. mags as a spare. I am a Glock fan, but I know this setup carries and shoots better for me than the G26 rig combination that I used to have, but the G26 is still a nice piece. Works for me & it might work for you, you may never know for sure until you try it out for yourself!

I've carried the P2000, P2000sk, and the Glock 26 that have been mentioned so far. For me they are very comfortable to carry and conceal. I've owned a couple of single stacks now, the Shield and the Glock 43 and shot a P938 a fair amount, and I find I shoot the others I've mentioned notably better than the single stacks in terms of ease of making good hits. The capacity is an added bonus.

As others have noted it's hard to tell someone what is or isn't comfortable for him/her. To me if the P2000sk does interest you it's a great pistol and you should be able to find a carry rig that will work for you.

thanks all...what are your thoughts on the Shield?

I can tell you I've tried the Shield a few times and it's worth your while to try one out for yourself. Big "IMHO" here, I like the Walther PPQ pistols I've tried and the PPS pistol I own better than the M&P and Shield pistols I've tried, but it is certainly anybody else's prerogative to disagree with me on this point!
