A buddy and I have had USP .45 mags start to malfunction (on different occasions). Upon inspection of the seam on the back of the mag, we noticed that the welds on the top dove tails had failed and the two sides misaligned therefore causing the rear of the casings to hang up.
It is not a severe problem (thank God, because these mags aren't the cheapest), as the mag can be emptied and the two sides realigned easily. Upon reloading it feeds fine, but I expect that the problem will arise again with all the shock from firing and mag drops to the ground.
We plan on finding someone who can spot weld them to keep them from separating again.
Has anyone else experienced this?
