Is the HK light any good? Haven't actually seen one myself, just on a list for about $229, seems expensive to me. Wondering about getting one for a Compact 45. Worth it? Thanks,
JB
I had one on my HK compact (traded since). They function well and look great (extremely bright). If your going to get a tac light, and you plan on keeping the gun long term, then you might as well buy the light that is made for it. You won't need the pressure swtich on the compact, as all of the controls are easily within reach.
$229 seems steep. Cal's http://www.calssportingarmory.com has them on sale for $180 now. I got mine from a local dealer for $150 new - I think H&K was offering some sort of dealer promotion at the time.
I have a UTL-II for my 40c and love it! I have a Blade-Tech thigh rig that can be converted to a paddle or Tek-Lock that fits the gun/light combo perfectly. I would say that the light is a definite plus. I paid $160.
I had one when I had my USP. Very good construction, and pretty durable. I took a fall into about 12 feet of cold water with it on the gun, and the light made it through and still worked.
