hk auto chuckers

Before you tell me to do a search, I did one last night on this and many boards.

I know the benelli seems to win often in arguments and what not, but I was shooting the breeze in a gun store the other day and they showed me an hk auto-chucker.

Now benelli seems pretty mean to stocking dealers such that my favorite store does not and can not sell benelli along side competitors. So no benelli, they offer everything else though.

Basically there is also a berretta that is real close to benelli, no I do not spell things well. The berretta is cheaper than the benelli, but the hk was in the 7 hundred range, I forget where in that range though, and it was under the berretta, the gun shop also said they have trouble getting those in.

I played on their website and am generally really impressed with it, it is the tactical model holds 7 rounds in a tube and one in chamber.

I am basically wondering where hk stacks up against the benelli in reliability and what not. Are they popular? Rare? junk?

This is more for who knows what, like surprising the buddies when shooting a little trap on the farm and what not. Instead of a pump I might have this. :) I also like the idea of a self loading shotgun that might dampen some of the slug loads I use in a pump.

Well no wonder I was confused. Same item with multiple names.

I like that sight and will have to look over the hk/fabarm a bit closer next week.

George - are you saying that the Benelli and the Beretta are the same gun? Where do you get that information from?

I believe those two are the under one company, someone else may know which.

My gunshop pretty well said the berretta was harder to get but equal to the benelli.

Maybe george has links and proof, but I trust my gunshop as they have had a few berrettas over the years.

I believe that Beretta is simply the parent company of Benelli. Just as they are for Sako and Tikka. Beretta handles the importation of the Sako/Tikka line but Benelli USA is importing the Benelli line.
Beretta is distributed through a number of distributors throughout the country while Benelli is avail. only thtough Benelli USA directly and only by specifically authorized stocking dealers. This - in thoery - should make the Beretta line more available for retail sales if the distributors have them available for wholesale.
Upon severing the importaion ties w/ Benelli, HK began importing Fabarm shotguns. (This was what I was told at the NYC Beretta gallery store)

Although I have handled both the Berettas and the HK/Fabarms, I still prefer the handling/feel of my Benelli. I seriously doubt that HK would be importing anything that wasn't up to meeting very high standards.

As for the recoil reduction of an autoloader, it all depends on what type of action. While many are gas operated, the Benelli at least - is recoil operated. No dampening there! 2 3/4" slugs are not too bad the 3"ers however...you know you pulled the trigger. But, it will feed and digest anything and not hiccup. I've tried and can't make it wimper.
