Hits On Target

Two hits to the thoracic cavity from concealment 5yds. What do you think a reasonable time is to get two hits on target?

I think when the OP says "from concealment," he means from the holster, under a concealment garment, as in IDPA. I don't think he means "from ambush."

If he's talking Vicker's rules, then if my club is any indication of "normal," at 5 yards a draw and double-tap should run under two seconds, and closer to 1 second for the fast guys.

As was said, a competent shooter who doesn't have any serious physical obstacles to performing those actions should be able to do it in less than two seconds.

This is not including any time that is necessarily used up in all the other things that are inherent in a gunfight, like making decisions, pulling aside clothing, moving away, standing up, leaving the car, etc. At a firing line? 2 seconds. At any other time in your life, it would be more accurate to say 5-10. When the loudmouthed guy at the little league game goes postal and starts shooting at the umpire, you're going to have to put down your hot dog and coke, jump to your feet, and unzip your fanny pack before you can draw and double tap, right?

Two shots from the holster in two seconds is a law enforcement standard in this state. By that, I mean that the target is only visible for two seconds and it's a standard part of the qualification. Many of us do it faster than that.
