All in all not a bad show at all.

There were two surprises though,,,
There was not one table selling beef jerky,,,
And the scantily clad young lady hawking Pakistani gun rugs wasn't present either. :(

There were the usual plethora of new gun tables,,,
Most guns were priced at MSRP or above,,,
But also a ton of used decent revolvers.

I got to see and handle that EAA 9mm/22 LR Combo I saw advertised,,,
The handgun had a nice feel, very similar to my CZ-75B,,,
Fit & finish was much better than I had expected.

The dealer swapped the barrel & slide for me,,,
Even reading the instructions it took him less than 2 minutes.

All in all a nice day spent sniffing the gun oil in the air.

You guys are so lucky. Over here we have an annual 'shot show' but its held in another province about 18 hours drive away.

We can obviously not buy guns, slides, frames or barrels. We can only look and be directed to a dealer who will have the product at his shop.

More power to you guys and keep supporting the shows to make sure you guys keep having them.

I happen to like beef jerky and this old man still loves scantily clad ladies, so I would have been really upset.

It appears that handgun prices are rising once again, I don't know why. The current administration has made no new moves to limit ownership. As I'm no longer an autoloader kinda guy I would have enjoyed a chance to see a ton of decent used revolvers.

The last show I attended here in NC had lots of everything for sale except revolvers of any type. Lots of Knives, reloading supplies, para-cord, a few "black rifles", plenty of Taurus pistols, and a few Glocks.

On a very positive note though, both the buyers and sellers did not have the angry bunker mentality I have observed at shows in the past.

We get neither at our local gun shows. Last one I went to I got a new agent for 800, seen it at the biggest gun seller place in Omaha for 1019 :) you can get a deal at a gun show if you know what is going on and the prices of stuff you want.

scantily clad youi say? you okies are lucky :)

Bummer :D

Last time I went to a gun show i got some Turkey Jerky, the gun prices were ridicules, Hi-Point .40 for $340

Gun shows are fun ....especially if they are well run ...and I go 7 or 8 times a year to the bigger shows in my area.

The prices are up here as well ...but that's ok / because for the most part I don't want / sure don't need anything ...but I still like going ...and bsing with some of the tables / and the buyers...

However in the world did you ever make it through a whole gun show without a beef jerky table?

We don't get scantily-clad ladies at the Arkansas shows, but I enjoy the shows nonetheless.

Hello BigJimP,,,

Mostly I go looking for accessories I can't find in stock at a store.

One table at this show had every handgun grip known to mankind,,,
Okay, that's a slight exaggeration but not by much,,,
I was able to compare several sets of stocks.

Another table had many thousands of magazines,,,
Including two for my Beretta Model 87. :)

One thing at this show I've never seen before,,,
A man with a laptop sitting at the snack bar area,,,
He was looking up current retail prices at Buds Gun Shop.

This guy was making some of the dealers very angry,,,
But they deserved it for marking their new guns above MSRP,,,
And then standing there and bold-face lying by saying they were bargain priced.

I mean one dealer told my lady friend,,,
His price of $419.95 for an LCP was $50.00 under MSRP,,,
Haven't these shysters ever heard of internet browsing Smart Phones?

In any event it's fun to just go and look,,,
Oh, I almost forgot about ammo.

I found a box of new-ish cartridges for my 8mm French Lebel revolver,,,
He sold me a box of 25 Fiocchi cartridges for $25.00,,,
When I ordered a box of 50 cartridges last year,,,
I paid about $1.25 a cartridge so I was happy.

Show

Dang, have'nt been to a show in awhile. Hard to believe no "Jerky". Hope the lady will be there when I can make the next one!!!

We're very lucky ....in my area ...we have a big show 10 times a year ...and there are probably 250 - 300 tables setup there on a Saturday / and probably 100 less on Sundays.

There is always a fair amount of junk / or stuff I consider junk ...and a lot of standard production guns ...and a lot of accessories ( belts, holsters, mags, cleaning stuff, ammo --- pretty much anything you'd need ....and reloading components.....and there are a few tables of jerkey or whatever as well...

Stay well man ...

Sir I have spent some time in your fine state, so I can attest that you must be attending different shows than I did:D Just look a little harder next time.

I don't count the ones that have to graze before the show. :p

They are not all as good as this one,,,

Went to one in Oklahoma City last Fall,,,
They advertised 400 tables.

There were 400 tables on the floor,,,
Maybe 25 of them had a vendor,,,
Less than half were guns.

I and a lot of other people demanded our entrance money back,,,
But you know how far that request/demand went.

We felt we had been ripped off,,,
They set up the entry table one corner away,,,
We could have seen there were hardly any vendors otherwise.

Oh well,,,

Ah yes, the jerky table...we have em' too.

I love to go to the local shows but not to buy guns. I go to see the over priced items each vendor is selling.

Regularly I'm witness to some slob seller trying to convince an elderly man or woman looking for their first gun that the .357 2" revolver is easy to shoot and is the best self defense handgun for them. It may be none of my business but I can't stand by and watch a totally confused older person being screwed in such a manner. My dad bought several worthless guns after being conned by such sellers over the years. I find it detestable.

I started the year off with three handgun purchases in the first month, two of them at shows. The crowds were unbelievable. And standing in line on a blustery day in January just to get into a show was borderline stupid, although I did get a LCP at around $260. I've missed the last three shows because of the crowds, but the vendors must be doing alright. I know it's not the jerky guys drawing the crowds, maybe it's those scantily clad ladies.
