History will be written today

Good morning,

Today, we as a nation, stand at a pivotal place in our history. We are threatened by an ideology of hatred abroad that has wounded us on our own soil. It threatens to do so again as we seek to persue an destroy it. This threat is greater than Fascism, Nazism, greater even than Communism. This threat is real, is present, is without mercy, without humanity, without civilized conduct.

The choice at the polls today is one of stark contrast; there are some on this board who will scoff and mock and say that life's choices are not that black and white.
I maintain that this one is and that our choices are clear; the results of those choices far ranging and dramatic.

Will we choose to continue to stand up for ourselves, make our own decisions about our safety, our place in the world and how best to seek out and destroy those that would joyfully kill us all or will we put our faith in the UN, knuckle under to the premise that we need to be popular among the Europeans, that we need to attempt to negotiate with or somehow appease the terrorists? Do we stand for allowing Bin Laden to put a death sentence on those of us whose states would vote for the President?

Do we vote for a man, flawed though he is, who says what he means and does what he says or a man who has made his political career by selling out our military, his constituents and his country; a man who could not tell the truth if our very lives depended on it, and they do.

This is the one time when the future of the country is truly in our hands. Let us make the most of this opportunity. God bless you all; God bless America.

Yes, I think that due to SCOTUS appts in the next 4 years, because of gun rights, it is extremely important that the repubs hold the presidency and the senate. There's actually a very important senate race in my state (OK), between two very conservative guys, one dem, one repub (Carson vs. Coburn). Both have A or A+ ratings from NRA, but putting Carson in could mean putting dems in control of the senate, so Mr. Coburn really needs to win - I heard last time I checked that this race was neck in neck, just like the POTUS race - so if you're in OK, go vote for Coburn PLEASE!

I met at dawn per Rush's calling and voted straight ticket. Although there are some good local Dems the party has lost its way as Zell so eloquently states.
My whole family with one exception, an unregistered liberal, has done their duty for the sake of our country.
Go Bush!
mc :)

I cast my votes at 0705 hrs. today. Straight down the Republican party ticket as usual.
May God bless these United States and George W. Bush in the months to come. ;)

Why does Kerry think that the U.S. must do EVERYTHING according to what the U.N. says? One reason I like bush is that he does what needs to be done, U.N. be damned! Hell, if I gave half a flying damn what the europeans think of me, I would learn the metric system. Good ole' inches, feet and yards.

I guess for the same reson Bush went back to the UN with his hat in his hand to beg for an international security force? And said in the speech the war was because he had to defend the integrity of the UN.

We don't have to do what the UN says, but we must acknowledge they have a role to play in this world. Bush's exclamation that the UN is "irrelevant" was arrogant, dangerous, but above all: WRONG. And the quicksand he got himself into in Iraq shows why sometimes it is best to grit your teeth and work with the UN. They don't dictate to us, but eh concept Bush genuinely fails to grasp: we can't dictate our culture and laws to the rest of the world either if we expect to live in peace.

Like what? Do you have any success story of the UN? Bend your knees to countries like Libya, being the chair of "human rights"? Bend your knees to countries like the assembled Europeans that needed years of throwing VERY BAD words to the Serbs? And the Serbs went undisturbed in trying to exterminate the MUSLIMS in Kosovo? Who do you call? Ghost Busters! Americans! Any appreciation from the muslim community for saving them?

Get real, don't watch movies, watch your fellow countrymen, and you'll learn more than being 10 years in "public" schools!

Amazingly enough the polling station CALLED me personally to come out and vote in NJ. Or should I say someone there called me to vote, even offering a ride to the polling station if I could not get there on my own.

Really, BountyH?

Where was the UN in Cambodia? Rwanda? Ethiopia? China? Yemen?

I'll tell you where they were-sucking down on the fat of the good old USA and chasing young chicks in New York, and pounding on their desks, screaming how wrong, decadent, imperialistic and evil the US is.

When it comes to this country, the UN is by-God irrelevant. The only spine they have is what the US decides to loan to them, and it seems they would much rather scam money from an evil person like Saddam than to whack him up side of the head and make him live up to what he agreed to. Part of the surrender document in case you missed it.

Where is this quicksand you keep talking about in Iraq? Oh, I forget-you never put a toe there. Silly me-several of my friends have been or are there, as well as a couple of my kids. What do they know?

America stood up and was counted, gburner! ;)

Wassamatter Bountyhunter? Still spewing about quagmires and such? You need to develop some new talking points as those are threadbare. ;)

During this election I've heard things that were absolutely outrageous and infuriating, but I would have to say that on the whole (when it comes to politics at least) I have never laughed so hard in my life.

Some of the fun involved easy targets like:

Some of the fun involved people that presumably expect other people to take them seriously. CBS's Dan Rather did things like present forged documents to the American people on a major broadcasting network. One of Mr. Rather's fellow-travelers came here from THR and posted this: Documents forged? Contents 100% accurate...

What a HOOT!

Worse yet, an entire political party made up (for the most part - sorry, no offense to folks like you Jamie) of a disparate and desperate affilliation of pathetic losers whose only discernable connection to each other is that they seem to vehemently hate America first; foist upon the rest of us the cold fish of a traitor bastard John "Victor Charlie" Kerry as a candidate for President.

But given Kerry's buffoonery as he played mighty hunter, and affected an "everyman" posture in an attempt to reach the NASCAR dad's, and the security mommies, who couldn't help but LTFAO?

I could go on, but it is too hard to giggle and type at the same time.

It looks like history will show that a little more than half of us will go on to fulfill the destiny God has in store for the greatness that is America. The other 49% of you are invited to tag along, but let me set up the ground rules for you:

A) Quit your damn whining!

B) If you want something, you work for it! Keep your hands out of my damn pockets, and don't even so much as look at my guns and other property. Their mine. Get your own.

C) See A & B

Now let's get about the business of making the death-cult psychotics around the world wish they were never born!
