My dad gave me this ivory-gripped Colt 1911 in .38 Super 20 years ago when I started my career. It was of course my first gun and it is kinda meaningful to me because It has some family history in itself.
Today I own many handguns including SIGs-228 & 230, Springfield Armory-P9c, BHP-P35, CZ-85, S&W686 and another Colt, Gold Cup Elite in .45 ACP but I still love this .38 Super and it shoots OK. I will keep it to my son.
I'd like to know more history of this pistol, epecially the time it was made, its exact model, etc. Its serial number is 88xxx. Any help would be very much appreciated.
