I' m new to the shotgun world, but decided at age 73, that the best HD weapon is a 12 guage. I wanted a Wilson, but that's a bit out of my price range! I bought a new 18" 870 Express Magnum. fitted it with a StockShox (in deference to my arthritic shoulder), a Wilson Sling and mount, a Tacstar sidesaddle and a light setup. I already had a Surefire, so I got a Tacstar remote switch and solved the mounting problem with a really neat mount from Lite Mount Technologies. It shoots well at the range and recoils with 00 buck ammo about like a deer rifle . All in all, very satisfactory at a total cost of under $450. Any critiques or suggestions would be appreciated. I've got pix, but don't know how to attach them. This is a great forum!
