Newbie Alert!
Hey Everyone, this is a great site, ive been lurking here for about a month and found this place to be a fount of information. Im pretty new to shooting, and im sure this will be the first of a flood of questions. I inherited a .22 lr Sport-King and im having trouble tracking down info on takedown and maintenance. Does anyone know a good online source or a book thats worth buying for High Standard pistols?
Thanks,
Steve

Yes ,Gun Parts there out of N.Y. I have a High Standerd. Great shooters easy to Dis,But I don"t recomend, taking it apart? If it works don"t fool with it! Button on front removes barrel. And always make sure its UNLOADED!!!!

Thanks for the site and the info on the barrel. It was looking like cleaning the bore was going to be a serious chore without that button :)

The "new" High Standard company in Houston will sell you the assembly/disassembly instructions for $5. It turned out to be a photocopy of one sheet. They have a web site at highstandard.com. Gun Parts Corp. in NY does sell spare sparts for the older model HS pistols and is a good source. I recommend you check out the High Standard forum .

If you want a good reference book on the history of HS pistols, I highly recommend Tom Dance's book, "High Standard, A Collector's Guide to the Hamden & Hartford Target Pistols". Enjoy your new HS. They are great pistols.

Dennis
