I have a High Standard target .22 auto that is extremely accurate. It has a removeable factory muzzle brake. When I use the brake, it really cruds up the muzzle from the powder blast being confined in that brake. The crud comes off, but with difficulty and I don't want to nick the muzzle crown digging at carbon.
Has anyone found a solution? So far, my solution has been to leave it off.
Anything you can put on the muzzle to keep the crud from sticking? (It is HARD carbon)
Any alteration to the brake help? Lots of real sharp walls in it to churn the gas. Maybe turning them more conical?
?????
It does work when I use it. The gun jumps a little less.
