A friend of mine just aquired one of these guns .. like the title says it's a High Standard Longhorn Convertible double action revolver with 9 1/2" barrel .. mint condition... the main thing i need to find out is how to take the cilinder out so he can change it to the .22 mag one .. he's tried and tried and can't figure it out .. no pins in obvious view .. i've even looked myself .. anyone know how to do it? oh and a current price would be appreciated too if it's not too much trouble .. TIA

GR33zy... I believe the long horn cylinder changes the same way as my double 9 model. In the front of the frame above the trigger guard is a recessed pin in a hole. Push inward on the pin with a punch or other small diameter tool and then you pull outward on the cylinder to remove it. Installation of the other cylinder is just the opposite. OH .... THIS IS DONE WITH AN UNLOADED FIREARM AND THE CYLINDER IN THE OPEN POSITION. Hope this helps ya.

yeah that's what we figured as far as removal .. tried it too .. maybe it's just harder to push in than expected .. from the looks of the gun it's never been removed and the .22 mag cylinder has absolutely no wear .. guess i'll tell him to try again .. btw i always check guns to make sure they're not loaded when handling :P

oh yeah .. thought i'd mention that i got an email response from a previous owner of the exact gun and he said the same thing as you .. most times the most simple solution is the correct one but not always .. that's why i was trying to make sure before we screwed something up

anyway could someone look it up and give me a current price on it?

thanx for the help
