High Standard Double Nine

I have a High Standard Double Nine from the original manufacturing year 1958 I believe. This pistol was my grandfathers and handed down to me. It originally had a nine round .22LR cylinder and a six round .22 Mag cylinder. Sometime over the years, the .22 Mag cylinder was lost. Does anyone know of a company that would sell a replacement cylinder or perhaps a site that might have users who would possibly have an original replacement part.

Also, I was wondering about the possibility of changing the grips. It has the original faux Ivory grips. I was thinking of possibly trying to get some solid wood grips for it.

Thanks

It woulld be impossible for the gun to have both a 9 shot and six shot cylinder. The timing would be off on one of them!

Plus one. Someone, either accidental or on purpose, misrepresented the gun.

In order to have both cylinders it would have to be a Double Nine "Convertible". Both cylinders would be 9 shot, and the frame of said gun would be steel vs. aluminum. It would also say "Convertible" on the barrel. If yours does not fit this criteria you have a standard Double Nine. (no mag. capability)

Oh, probably nothing as cynical as someone misrepresenting something. More then likely, a prime example of a 40 something remembering child hood experiences :D. Getting old sucks.

I am probably getting two different guns mixed up that my dad had and confusing attributes to the one surviving gun that I have from that time. I do remember one that was a .22 combination with two different cylinders and remember the .22 mag being a 6 shot... The one I have is a nine shot .22lr. So based on what you all have said I would deduce that the other must have been the combo and that it had a 6 shot .22 mag and a 6 shot .22LR.

That said, I am glad you all corrected me, as I have spent hours upon hours looking for someone that might have the imaginary replacement cylinder.

Not to mention, clearing up a person's ignorance is always a blessing.

The timing thing is interesting, as I wouldn't have ever expected that would matter.

Again, thanks for the clarification.

High Standard

The factory parts manual shows an optional 22 WMRF cylinder assembly. The models listed as "Convertible" are "Double Nine" & "Longhorn" Came in blue or nickel. The "High Sierra" 22lr/22mag was another.

The High Standard revolver I remember that came with both a .22lr and .22 mag cylinder was the Longhorn, both cylinders were 6 shot. Very nice revolver.

I have the Double Nine Convertible bought in the 70's. It is a nine shot 22 and 9 shot 22 mag. Great shooting gun!

Thanks for the link to the Numrich link and the manual. It let me get the link to my specific model which is very nice.

Mine is the W-100 model.
