Came across an old High Standard 12 ga. riot gun - looks like an 18 inch barrel. Excellent condition. Anybody have any experience with them or know anything about them? Good - bad whatever?

As I remember they where of the single action bar design at first, all steel receviers, 2 3/4" chambers the 20" tube was Imp/cyl

We had them in the old sheriff dept I worked at back in the mid 60's

Had one in '77, can't recall any problems with it, but didn't keep it long enough to really give it a workout.

good old shotgun for the money. You can spend more but why. I had one for several years and had the chance to trade in for a 97 win.

Gun

I received a used one as a christmas gift 25+ years ago and use it every year for rabbit hunting. It is a great shotgun.

If my memory serves, these were called K120 Riot Guns by High Standard, we had a couple in our armory. They had very slick actions, a barrel fixed to the receiver (not removable). They seemed to gum up a little quicker than the 870 or M-37, that is of little importance since EVERYTHING gummed up in south east Asia.

I would buy it, but I am a sucker for riot scatterguns.

Good Luck & Be Safe
