High School Students Care About Gun Control

The future will be in good hands...
At the high school where I teach (MN), many students were excited about the election, and had definite opinions about who they believed the next president should be. Bush was overwhelmingly the favorite choice. As some students were trying to convince others that Bush should be "the man", I overheard quite a few say throughout the day that "Gore wants our guns". I was quite relieved that there are many young people out there who DO see threats to freedom and the second amendment, and those young people WANT to vote and make a difference. I could only wish that more s could see the light as easily as some of my students.

Perhaps location comes into play, Battler. 'Round here (rural central Texas) you'd lose to Country Boy.

Gun control is a political issue they're discussing over in Legal/Political. Let's take this thread over there to join the crowd.

I have a few future soccer moms who are, by pattern, clueless. However, a lot of my students are against gun control. Quite a number of them hunt and occassionaly tell me about going shooting with their uncle so-and-so. It's good to hear. There's hope. A LOT of kids are angry at what they have seen as they have grown up, a lecherous, lying slob as president and a bunch of self-righteous gun-grabbing nacissistic rectal openings in other offices. Kids are rebelling and becoming conservative! How's that for the pendulum swinging?

My school is a private episcopalian school and while Bush one our litttle "mock vote" everywhere I go I seem to see Gore supporters spewing his ideas like they were the words of a god. And the majority of my teacher voted gore. Atleast my assistant head mistress is a republican.
