High Grade Winchester Value

I have a very nice Winchester 9422 Boy Scout 22cal. new in the box unfired .
I really have little use for it and not sure of price or best place to post it for sale . A friend past away 2/3 years ago and his wife gave this to me and I will never use it .

Have you checked GunBroker for similar I assume rifles? When searching, look at completed auctions for guns of the same model and condition that actually sold. Good luck with it.

Yes I did check out Gunbroker . I did find Winchester Model 9422 and the Boy Scout 22 but not the High Grade . I also tried a Winchester Collector Site but I can not post .

The wife could have sold it herself. She wanted you to have it. How will she feel if you turn around and sell it? Or do you want to spend the next few years lying that you still have it. If you don't want it, offer to help her sell it.

When I need a current price. Blue Book of Gun Values found at my local walmart. Just peruse its pages to see if the book has the information you require.. After-all as a prospective buyer? why not look before you purchase~~maybe? lol

You really should shoot that 9422 and I bet you change your mind about selling. Few years ago I bought a 9422 XTR. Wasn't sure about it, but several friends tried to buy it off me. When I did my first range trip I fell in love with it. It is the first .22 I've owned that will shoot shorts, longs or long rifle. It is the most accurate .22 rifle I own. At the range everyone wants to shoot it, it's a sweet little .22. And I hate .22 rf, I have very little use for them.

I sold off a Remington 77 and 10C and kept the 9422. Only other rifle I have in .22rf is a Glenfield 60 from the 1970's and the 9422 shoots better than it does.

The prices on 9422s are high, there's a reason for that. Trust me, go shoot it.

I bought one new in a .22 magnum 30 years ago for $300.00. It was a great shooting gun. Ended up selling it to pay for car repairs when I was first married and dead broke. I see them selling for over $1000.00 at gun shows and on gunbroker.

I agree with Joed and some of the others in that the 9422 is a fantastic rifle. The construction is rock solid and the action is smooth as butter. I have a couple of them in 22LR and another in 22wmr. The magnum version is even sweeter than the LR, in my opinion. Here's my standard grade magnum...

I really like my 9422. Was at a gunsmith maybe a decade ago, and the little rifle was propped in a corner. I asked if I could handle it, and he said it was for sale. His price was $85. It wasn’t NIB, but more well used. I couldn’t get the checkbook out fast enough. It’s every bit as good as the other owners say. As accurate as my 39A and is much lighter.

Commemoratives as opposed to High-Grades

They don't say high grade but looking at the stock these are not standard grade guns. That is a beautiful gun!

It's a Commemorative and even though it is not listed as High-Grade, it is in line with other High-Grades that I have seen. All the Commemoratives I have seen are a cut above the norm. I could be wrong but I have never seen a listing of High-Grade on a Commemorative. Really does not matter and this is a real beauty. ……. :)

Be Safe !!!
