I cant remember of I read it or heard it, but, Sig Sauer is supposedly coming out with a high capacity version of the P-220. Have any of you heard anyhting about this? If you have let me know, thanks.

Haven't heard of it. Actually, haven't seen any new hi-cap pistol designs since the mag ban.
Wouldn't be interested even if it is true.
My duty (and off duty) P-220 does all I could ask a pistol to do.

The SIG P220 is no pocket gun and fits my hand fine. It has an 8 round mag and the P221 would only be a 10 rounder unless you are an LEO. With a grip that size it would be difficult to conceal. Since the major commercial handgun market in the world is in the U.S., and we have a 10 round limit and are going to concealed carry, I do not see SIG making it. I would not have a gun that big to get an extra two rounds in the mag. I like the H&K P7 M8 over the M13 for the same reason. It fits my hand MUCH better. I just don't see much of a market for it.

Years ago before the days of the Fineswine magazine ban some aftermarket maker developed a 15 round magazine for the P220. I have a friend who bought one. It didn't work too well and I advised him it was strictly a "range" magazine not to be considered for duty carry.

Still rumours. I have even heard of the suppossed name for it like the P221, etc, etc. Double stacked?

If you want a square answer, simply email Sigarms customer service, and they will tell you directly there are no plans for a high capacity .45. It makes no sense whatever, since most of the market for a pistol like that is in the U.S. and the 10 round ban is in place. You can already get 10 round mags for the P220. Sigarms Website
