Hi-Viz vs. Ramp Sights on S&W 340PD

I have a Model 38 Bodyguard that I dearly love, but I am on the verge of purchasing a 340PD. Pricey, but the minimal weight, high strength, and the option of using .357 Mag or .38 Spl make the 340PD very attractive (only wish it was Bodyguard style).

My question is this, is the Hi-Viz worth the extra $10? Has anyone heard of these sights being damaged inadvertently? A buddy of mine is also looking at the 340PD, but he feels the Hi-Viz sight might be fragile when compared to the red ramp version. Your thoughts and experience on the topic would be much appreciated.

i think it is. i have a 342 w/out the hiviz and its not so great. granted its a snub and sights arnt the biggest concern, the hiviz still seems like the best way to go (espically for 10 dollars) keep in mind they are light gathering, not night sights as many people think.
