Hi-Standard Mitchell Trophy II???

Well I went to pick up my Ruger MK III and didn't have the one I wanted. Now with more time to think I'm not sure if I want the 5.5 bull or th e6 7/8 bull barrel. Ane on top of that they had this used very nice looking Hi-standard Michell Trophy II in stainless. I'd say it was about an 8. for 475$. It had a very nice trigger as well. Does anyone know or can give some knowledgable advise to help me make up my mind. I do like the fact the Rugers are so upgrageable. Thanks

Mitchell bought the H-S name (and their tooling?) years after the original High Standard Co. went out of business. I don't know how the Mitchell production stacks up against the originals. I have used Mitchell magazines in my own H-S. They worked properly.

HS are very temperamental with regards to feeding. A ruger will eat anything. I would not suggest a HS unless you have access to another owner who can help you tune each magazine.

Go with a new ruger as your first Bullseye gun.
