I know these rifles have promblems and are cheap but since they have an life time warranty thought about picking one up and just running the crap until it breaks send it back shoot it until it breaks send it back and so on see what I mean not a bad idea is it.

If you do a search of this board you will find volumes of discussion on the Hi-Point carbine. I don't remember ever reading anything negetive about one. I shot mine today. I think you will be doing a hell of a lot of shooting before you send it in.

The're actually good little weapons. I bought one USED, and shot it to death. It didn't jam and was very accurate.

I did have a problem with mine once, but it was my fault. I used break cleaner to flush it out and it kind of softened up the trigger until it finally broke. I called the factory, and I had a new one in my mailbox in 2 days, no charge. Can't ask for better service than that.

I once commented on another forum that those who knock the High Point always seem to start out by saying they never used one, never saw one, and wouldn't own one. I have never heard of a gun for which dislike was so based in total and deliberate ignorance.

OTOH, those who have used High Point guns almost unanimously say the same thing - they ain't pretty, but they work.

I have heard horror stories about their pistols. Their carbines are supposed to be the exact opposite though.

A buddy of mine in Virginia brought in a target he had shot at 125 yards with one: the group was about 4", give or take a litttle. I've never fired one, but all the folks I know who own them really enjoy shooting them.

I was a skeptic, until I bought one. I had previosly owned a Ruger PC9. I'm really impressed with the Hi Point. It's not just a good gun for the money, it's a good gun. As my economic position improves, I'd like to get one for each of my vehicles. Since I carry a handgun 24/7, I think these carbines make a great backup for the car. They are rated for +P+ ammo. I prefer Gold Dot +P. Out of the carbine barrel, the 9mm +P is impressive.

i was channel surfing the other day and saw some guys with green suits shooting in the jungle so i figured hey another vietnam shootem up--i stopped for just long enough to see the worst firearms movie i've ever seen.....it was on the pet channel and it was a vietnam movie about war dogs-----i switched it when i saw a least one guy shooting a high point and another shooting a mini 14.....dog looked like the real thing however.......Dick
