Hi point 1886 45-70!!!

that's about right for a chiappa. news to me that chiappa is made by hi point but oh well. chiappa rifles are pretty widely respected though their handguns are complete junk from what I've heard.

The US distributor for Chiappa is owned by Hi-Point. I have seen this specific rifle listed as a Hi-Point several places which is abnormal for Chiappa guns. Piqued my interest. I do not know why it is only this gun or if it is a branding change that will expand in the future.

The us distributor is MKS Supply of Dayton Ohio http://www.mkssupply.com/

Today the CHIAPPA GROUP is an industrial corporation including Armi Sport (replica firearms, target shooting, defense), Kimar (blank, signal and small caliber firearms), ACP (laser training system), Costa (metal surface treatment), Chiappa Firearms Ltd (USA branch in Dayton born to support with technical and commercial assistance the most important market for the Chiappa Group).

I am not sure who MKS is trying to help the Hi point brand or the Chiappa...

Lefteye,
Look up who owns Hi-Point.

MKS is a holding company used to funnel hipoint money into other investments while limiting liability as much as possible mixing liability. May be tax reasons also. At least it seems from my research Hi-Point predated MKSSUPPLY and is the origin of all their holdings/financing. They own a few things and it is a little confusing. I don't think any of it is public so records are a little scant.
