Welcome

Nice wheelie. I have trouble seeing over those large front sights...I have a Ruger SP101, GP-100, and a new Vaquero on the way. If you choose Ruger, you can't go wrong regardless of the model... ;)

might these people have been your parents trying to talk you out of a gun? They arent any more dangerous than a semi auto pistol or a DA revolver. Ruger Blackhawk is a nice gun. I just love big revolvers (mine is a Super Redhawk in .454 Casull) but the .357 mag is also another of my fav calibers.

SA with trnsfer bar seems to me to be a VERY safe gun compared to DA,AUTO .If youu pull the triggger it fires and if you don't it doesn't. how about some spelllcheck

Thanks guys and i already own one pistol and one revolver the pistol being a Beretta 92f in 9mm and the revolver being a s&w 686 in 357 with a 4 inch barrel. the revolver is my main choice in a fire arm as i prefer the feel to a Semi auto pistol it just feels alot more solid. Yes you might be down like 10 rounds compared to the 92 but it just feels right :D the Super Redhawk in .454 Casull is an amazing firearm!!

yup, the .454 Casull is a sweet gun. The recoil is nothing like its made out to be. I think though my next revolver is gonna be a .357 mag since I might head to school to be a sheriff deputy and a .357mag revolver is one of the guns they have listed. I dont think theyd allow me to shoot the .454 Casull or a Magnum Research BFR in 45-70 :D

Heh im gonna train to become a cop dunno why just seems like a good job to go in to. need to get in betta shape though :P

Your only 18 and interested in a SA, thats awesome because most younger people want a bottom feeder.

BTW the blackhawk is a very good SA, I love mine but I prefer my vaquero more.

i bought a used blackhawk in .357 when i turned 18 and wish i still had it. it was a great gun (my first handgun) and i had absolutely no problems shooting it. recoil was no problem, easy to be pretty accurate with (i'm still no marksman, but i shot that gun very well compared to others i've had since)and easy to clean. if you get it i'm sure you'll enjoy it.

You might quickly tire of the loading/unloading process involved with the SA revolver... :(
The Ruger GP-100 in the 6" bbl. format might be a lot more fun for you.
I shot mine today, and a 4" and a 2 3/4" Security-Six.
The 6" GP-100 is quite nice for a .357. :)

Good Luck.

i already own a s&w 686 in 357mag which is 7 shots and this was new to me so i bought it. The reloading doesnt bother me as this is just summit ya gotta do :D i think that would be fun acctualy haveing to reload 1 bullet spin another and so fourth :P

I own a S/S Ruger Blackhawk in .357 magnum. One of my favorites and lots of fun. Get one and enjoy. They're perfectly safe - safer then the old Colt Peacemakers.

Yep, McGee's 686 is double action - one of the advantages of double action is easier loading and unloading - you just swing the whole cylinder out of the frame on a pivot. If you aren't sure you want a single action, I'd try them both first.

i like the whole 7 shot thing cause its strange having just one more shot than normal makes it a bit more fun.

The 686+ is my favorite revolver. Just took my 4" to the range yesterday (haven't shot my 2" + model yet) and hit the bull's eye at 75 ft. It's the gun I shoot best with, every time. :D Bought it used and will never part with it.
