I saw this on www.packing.org. (I am not really good with the hypertext linking. :( ). Anywho... It looks like Florida and Texas have signed a reciprocity agreements. :) Although the Texas DPS has not updated their website yet, Florida has. There is also a possibility that Texas and Tennessee have reached an agreement also. I have not seen a conformation of TX-TN yet. One more thing about TX-FL-- it looks like that TX will honor non-resident FL permits also :D

As of Friday from the Texas Reciprocity listserver, there was no official word from the Texas Department of Safety. Actually, as long as Florida lists Texas, that is great. Living in Texas means I don't have to worry about whether or not Texas recognizes Florida CHLs or not.

Bubba wonders if Mississippi will get one signed with Texas by next week???? (IDPA Nationals start next week in Mississippi. :) )

I don't know the facts for Florida, but several states recognize Texas CHL even though Texas does NOT recognize CHLs from that state.

IOW, recognition of CHLs may be one-sided. Double check to ensure complete reciprocity.

Dennis I think Texas has a higher qualification to carry than some other states so it may be that Texas wont recognize some that issue without some class and shooting to make sure you know some basic knowlege of shooting and where and when you can carry.

Dennis is correct. When I took the class a while back the instructor said that Florida recodnized Texas but that Texas had not recognized Florida permits. The reason is that Florida has lower qualification requirements.
